URBAN OUTFITTERS HAS been urged to remove a throw from sale after the Anti-Defamation League described it as being “eerily reminiscent of Holocaust” clothing worn by gay prisoner in concentration camps.

The grey-and-white throw is adorned with a pink triangle, which is similar to the triangle featured on prisoners’ outfits.

In a statement, the Anti-Defamation League said:

Whether intentional or not, this gray and white stripped pattern and pink triangle combination is deeply offensive and should not be mainstreamed into popular culture. We urge Urban Outfitters to immediately remove the product eerily reminiscent of clothing forced upon the victims of the Holocaust from their stores and online.

Urban Outfitters have not addressed the outcry, but the item does not appear to be stocked on its website any longer.

This is not the first time that Urban Outfitters has found itself at the centre of controversy – the clothing store was previously condemned for selling clothes adorned with a symbol that looked similar to the Star of David.
